Roman Ruins

Biography

Roman Ruins (aka Graham Hill; born Sept 11, 1980) is an architect and songwriter based out of New Orleans, Louisiana. Hill was born and raised in an intentional community in rural West Virginia, founded by artists and musicians, where Hill's father has been the house bassist for NPR's Mountain Stage. Hill toured and recorded extensively as a drummer with dream-pop bands Beach House and Papercuts. He is a licensed architect, husband, and father of two.

As Roman Ruins, Graham Hill creates songs that explore the convergence of music and architecture, weaving melody and rhythm into flowing, spacious soundscapes. Hill’s solo recording project combines live and electronic instrumentation into rich, psychedelic pop tunes that beckon the edges of the future, while staying firmly rooted in the grooves of the past.
